I cannot say enough good things about Jay at Tommy Guns on 51st.My son is 5 and has always had a really hard time with getting his hair cut or washed because of sensory issues. I’m actually a trained barber, and I’ve been cutting his hair his entire life, but it has been SO traumatic for both of us. I’ve even taken him to a salon that specializes in kids’ cuts, and while the hairdresser was great and it was absolutely no fault of theirs, it was still a really difficult experience.With back-to-school coming up, I was feeling a little light on stress-management brain power 😂 and decided I just didn’t have it in me to tackle his haircut myself. I figured I’d try Tommy Guns because the walk-in system made it super easy.I cannot stress this enough: it was the most amazing hair experience my son has ever had.I told Jay that my son would probably do better with scissor-over-comb because when he gets overwhelmed, he can pull away from the clippers. Jay grabbed his clippers and went right in anyway.AND MY SON SAT STILL.I was literally standing there with my mouth open, eyes watering, borderline full-on crying. 😂 I don’t know if Jay is an ADHD kid whisperer or if my son and him just immediately vibed, but whatever happened, I am SO grateful.Watching my kid have such a calm and positive experience with something that has always been so difficult for him honestly meant more to me than I can explain.Jay, thank you SO much. You made what is normally an incredibly stressful experience into something that was actually enjoyable for both of us. We will absolutely be back!

Shout out to Alex the hairstylist, for his first time doing the Tommy Shelby Hair cut he did fantastic. I definitely love Tommy Guns barbershop it's a great place to go for haircuts. The service is great. The staff and employees are friendly
